The FMA Announces The 2016 Supply Chain Executive of the Year Award

The 2016 Supply Chain Executive of the Year Award goes to..

Ottawa, ON: The Freight Management Association of Canada (FMA) is pleased to announce that Jaime DeKelver, CCLP, Vice President of Logistics for NSC Minerals, has been chosen as the 2016 Supply Chain Executive of the Year.

Ms. DeKelver has helped build and maintain strong relationships within the transportation industry for NSC Minerals and it is through many of those relationships that the company has been able to grow and provide customers exceptional customer service. In granting the award, FMA’s Board of Directors were impressed by DeKelver’s commitment to the industry and involvement in the community. This is evident in her current level of volunteerism within Saskatchewan’s transportation groups. DeKelver established NSC’s ‘Carrier Appreciation Days’, which coincides annually with Transportation Week and allows NSC to give back to the drivers picking up loads at its facilities. “This event would not be possible without her involvement”, said Neil Cameron, President of NSC Minerals. Further, DeKelver initiated NSC’s involvement with many charitable organizations such as 18 Wheels of Christmas, Movember and also coordinated corporate donations for those affected by the wild fires in Fort McMurray, Alberta.

In the Fall of 2015, DeKelver took on the daunting task of Project Coordinator on a company-wide supply chain software upgrade. Drawing on her years of experience in the industry, her thorough knowledge of supply chain management, and her ability to inspire teamwork across all divisions at NSC, Jaime brought the vision for an operating system to fruition when the system went live in the Fall of 2015.

“Jaime’s achievements on the job and in the community are outstanding and she is a worthy recipient of the Supply Chain Executive of the Year award” said Bob Ballantyne, President FMA. “She is one of the key organizers for the FMA Saskatchewan Region’s annual event in Prince Albert National Park, which is now in its 60th year and it is a pleasure to work with her and her Saskatchewan colleagues on this event each year”.

During the recent award presentation at the CITT Canada Logistics Conference in Saint John, New Brunswick, Jaime encouraged fellow attendees to never stop learning and growing and to “get involved and volunteer. Volunteer for whatever you are passionate about – whether it is within your community, or your industry, just give your time.” She promised that the rewards are great and long lasting.

The Freight Management Association of Canada (FMA), The National Voice of the Shipper, promotes policies and legislation through advocacy focusing specifically on freight transportation issues. FMA represents the interests of the Canadian shipper community to help achieve positive change that will directly affect a company’s bottom line. The primary role is advocacy on behalf of the buyers of freight transportation with all levels of government, carrier groups and with foreign governments and agencies.
